Santa Clara Convention & Visitors Bureau
  eNews - September 2016
Here are a few highlights from the ongoing work at the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).
CVB's Website Now in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, & Spanish

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is now providing online visitor information in four different languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish. New foreign language microsites were created to meet the demand of incoming visitors as a result of Mineta San Jose International Airport's (SJC) increased international routes.

SJC's non-stop international flights include routes to/from Tokyo, Japan; Beijing, China; Shanghai, China; and Guadalajara, Mexico.
NEW Web Page Highlights CVB Activities & Economic Impacts

The Santa Clara Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has created a new "CVB E-News and Economic Impacts" web page on its Visit Santa Clara website that includes monthly highlights of CVB activities and also comprehensive Santa Clara County travel and tourism economic impact stats.

The stats, provided by the Governor's Office of Business Development and Dean Runyon and Associates, signify the importance that conventions and visitors have on Santa Clara and Silicon Valley. The new page can be found at: www.santaclara.org/our-media/CVBEnews-Impacts/

Convention Sales Staff Attends Connect Marketplace

The CVB's sales staff recently attended the Connect Corporate Marketplace tradeshow where they met with both corporate and association meeting and event planners. In all, staff had 50 one-on-one appointments. Many of the planners expressed interest in and said they would consider Santa Clara as a meeting location.

At the tradeshow's Business Marketplace, RFPs are placed, dates are secured, and relationships are developed for future business. Convention Sales staff will be following up with planners met at the tradeshow in hopes of booking new business for Santa Clara.
