EXPLORE ALL FIVE SENSES AT FALL SHAKORI HILLS GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL
PITTSBORO, N.C. - The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is giving individuals the ultimate opportunity to explore all five senses at its 13th annual fall festival from Thursday, Oct. 6 to Sunday, Oct. 9. Not only will there be over 40 bands and performers, a variety of food vendors, dance and music workshops, but there will also be a Healing Arts Area, guaranteed to give festivalgoers the healing their bodies deserve.
Sara Waters, Festival Co-Coordinator, says, "What better place to do yoga than a music festival? After camping all night and staying up late, maybe eating some junk food, your body needs to move and stretch, we've got that covered. It's also nice to explore different types of healing."
Festivalgoers can escape and find their utopia at the Healing Arts Area, shielded by trees in a peaceful glade. Whether they are looking to express their energy creatively or in need of some energy from a long night, they can find just what they are looking for in the yoga and movement classes offered in the Movement Tent or at a bodywork session in the Healing Arts Area.
Festival attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this unique twist. All ages and levels of experience are welcomed at the Movement Tent workshops. Classes at the tent include: Tai Chi, Balancing Vinyasa Flow, Thai Yoga Bodywork and Nia Dance Movement. Individuals looking for a different approach to healing, can book an appointment for a bodywork therapy with a Healing Arts practitioner. Bodywork therapies include, massages, shiatsus and Ayurvedic medicine.
