Stanardsville, VA  - October 26, 2016 -  The International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), the premier international, networking and professional growth organization for women in the restructuring and insolvency industry, announced today that it has awarded Eloise Fardon, a bankruptcy attorney at Stephenson Harwood, and IWIRC Hong Kong Network's Past Chair, its 2016 Rising Star Award.  Ms. Fardon, chosen among 5 semi-finalists, was recognized during IWIRC's 23rd Annual Fall Conference Luncheon in San Francisco, California on October 26, 2016.

In her practice at Stephenson Harwood, Eloise acts for foreign companies, Hong Kong listed and private companies, banks and other financial institutions and insolvency practitioners on various contentious matters and debt restructurings. Her areas of practice include insolvency and restructuring, general commercial litigation and regulatory litigation.

Not only has Eloise made a massive contribution to IWIRC these past few years, but she has also built the Hong Kong Network up for a sustainable future, with much improved communications and a stronger supporter and sponsorship base. As a result of her efforts, the IWIRC Hong Kong Network is fortunate to have all of its events sponsored and well-supported. Eloise was also integral in growing the social media presence for the Hong Kong Network and a professional system for sending out all of the network's communications to the Hong Kong Network and network friends.

During Eloise's tenure on the Hong Kong Network Board, the Network raised in excess of US$20,000 for charity and each year the Network holds at least two events with a charitable focus.

"Eloise has, in our view, gone above and beyond what is required of any board member during her tenure on the Hong Kong Network Board," stated Yvonne Chong and Aisling Dwyer, Co-Chairs of the IWIRC Hong Kong Network. "She is an example to others in the Hong Kong Network, the other networks in the Asia-Pacific region and indeed the IWIRC community globally and she displays all of the leadership qualities that IWIRC encourages and expounds. Eloise is proactive, communicative, supportive, creative and inspiring, both in her work ethic and her ideas."

The Rising Star Award is bestowed upon an IWIRC member with eight or less years of experience in her respective field, who has made considerable contributions to her professional success and displayed a high-level of commitment to advancing IWIRC's mission, enhancing the professional status of women in the insolvency and restructuring profession, at the local, national and/or international levels.
