Food For Fines Has Begun!!


 

From September 1 through September 30, patrons can pay down their overdue fines by bringing in canned goods and non-perishable items to the Public Library of New London.  All items will be donated to the New London Area Food Pantry.  This program does not apply to lost or damaged item fees on a patron's record.

Supper Book Club -
Tolstoy and the Purple

We will be discussing the book Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading by Nina Sankovitch.  Copies of the book are available to borrow at the Circulation Desk.
Every month, food is ordered from a local restaurant, to be delivered to the library at 5:30 PM, the day of the meeting.  If possible, the food will relate thematically to the book. Or not! The menu is available at the Circulation Desk.  Participants select and pay for their menu items before the meeting. Please leave your money at the Circulation Desk by 1:30, the day of the book club meeting for that month.
**Please feel free to bring your own supper. Coffee, tea and water are provided by the library.

Build Your Marketing
Toolkit: A framework
for small businesses
and organizations

Many small businesses and organizations find themselves seeking the right strategies to make their marketing efforts as effective as possible. But with so many different marketing activities that they could focus on, they often miss some of the important marketing concepts that will help them understand why those activities are so important. This presentation is designed to uncover some of those core concepts and show that a little bit of marketing knowledge can go a long way.
Attendees of this presentation will learn:
* What marketing really is (and isn't).
* How marketing has changed in ways that benefit small businesses.
* The importance of setting goals and objectives for their marketing efforts.
* The 4 Pillars or Marketing Success - a framework that shows how different marketing activities all fit together, and will help small businesses reflect on their own marketing program.
* It's ok to start small, to start where you already are.

Free Violin Lessons with
NL Community  Orchestra  
Tuesday, September 22
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Register now for this amazing opportunity! Free violin lessons for children, preferably age 10-14. Instruments will be provided, and children may take their violin home to practice each week.
Two 30-minute sessions each Tuesday. The first will run from 4:00pm- 4:30pm, and the second will run 4:30pm- 5:00pm.
