Rockville Science Center Newsletter, September 2016
Happy Retirement, Ruth
She'll still be helping organize Rockville Science Cafe and Science Tuesdays, but after 37 years, Ruth Hanessian is retiring and closing the family-run pet store, Animal Exchange, that many in Rockville have enjoyed visiting for years.

Best wishes for a happy & relaxing retirement, Ruth. See you at Science Cafe on the 20th.

Robotics & Engineering
It's the start of a new school year, and the start of several robotics and FLL programs.

For 9th and 10th graders, we're having an open house for Explorer Post 1010 on September 14 at JHU Montgomery County at 7pm. Come if you're interested in rockets, robots, BotBall, quad-copters or other engineering activities.

We're also organizing FLL teams for the coming year, and will be doing a kit loan-out on September 8 at JHU Gilchrist Hall (you'll receive an email from Bob Ekman if you're on the list).  If you haven't already, fill out the FLL interest form here so we can try and match you up with other interested 9-14 year olds in your area, especially if you're able to be a parent coach or assistant coach.
