Lovejoy HS News 09 19 16

Parents and Guardians,

Today begins an exciting week of Homecoming activities at LHS. Some of these activities include dress-up days, a Theatre Improv performance, Powder Puff games, and our Mr. Lovejoy Contest. Additional details regarding Thursday's schedule can be found below. Our Homecoming football game is Friday night at 7:30 against West Mesquite HS, and our Homecoming Dance will be held in the LHS Commons from 8-11 on Saturday night.

This year, we will crown our Homecoming Queen and King during football pre-game activities on Friday night. The coronation ceremony will begin at approximately 7:05 with the actually crowning taking place around 7:20. Make sure you get to the stadium early so you don't miss this great event.

Have a great week!

Chris Mayfield
Principal

Lovejoy Events and Activities

Sign-Up to be a Senior Project Judge
Senior Project is an exciting part of every LHS senior's experience as they explore topics of their choice and share what they learn with members of the community. There are different components of the project including creating a proposal, writing an annotated bibliography, and completing an activity. As the culminating event of their Senior Project, students give an 8-10 minute presentation about their experience to a panel of adult volunteer judges. These judges score students on their presentation skills and give them feedback designed to help them in their future pursuits. As the Senior Project Coordinators, we want to extend to you the invitation to share in this experience as a Senior Project Judge. Presentations will take place this year at Lovejoy High School on November 15th, December 7th, January 17th and February 16th. Presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. and should conclude by 9:00 at the latest. Dinner will be provided each evening.
**Please note: There are only 4 opportunities to serve as a Senior Project judge this year. As a result, we will require more judges per evening than we traditionally needed in the past.

If you would like to sign up, please visit the website below.
Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] with questions.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
