Our Downtown - "R" Downtown
|
LUNCH DOWNTOWN TODAY!
Your SAR and the Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) announced, this week, a new initiative to help downtown restaurants survive road construction along Lincoln and Monroe streets:
Our Downtown - "R" Downtown.
The SAR encourages all REALTORS® and affiliate members of the association to have lunch downtown this week, September 6-9.
The
Our Spokane - "R" Spokane initiative was announced at your regular monthly Board of Directors' meeting at Scratch restaurant in downtown Spokane on Wednesday (pictured above). Scratch is one of the downtown restaurants in the middle of the construction zone.
The Downtown Spokane Partnership has created a hashtag for the event. You can display this on your mobile device, or print and bring a copy, when you and your lunch partner snap pictures of your downtown lunch for your social media channels.
Download your
#RDOWNTOWNSPOKANE sign (pictured above),
online here.
To continue the effort next week, we challenged the Spokane Homebuilders Association to encourage its members to lunch downtown the week of September 12-16.
Following their week, the Homebuilders will challenge Spokane County and City government to encourage its employees to lunch downtown the week of September 19-23. Professional organizations will continue to be challenged through the end of construction season this fall.
Enjoy lunch downtown with a client or friend this week and support this initiative: it's Our Downtown - "R" Downtown!
Your association received some good media coverage around the #RDOWNTOWNSPOKANE event this week - radio, television and print!
Thanks to SAR President-elect Jennifer Valerian for representing us in these interviews.
Live streamed podium audio of announcement
See the news release from the Downtown Spokane Partnership that announced this event at the beginning of the week (pictured above), online here.
The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) has been a great partner with us on this project. Next time you see DSP President Mark Richard or Marketing & Programming Manager Elizabeth Hooker, please say "thank you!"

REALTOR® Safety Month
|
September is REALTOR® Safety Month when we remind ourselves and our colleagues to keep safety top-of-mind all year.
Well be sharing a variety of safety pieces here in the Weekly Notices all this month to support sharing the word on safety.
The National Association of REALTORS®, this week, released its 2016 Member Safety Report.
This report contains the results of a survey of REALTORS® which asked about:
- How safe or unsafe they feel
- The root causes of any unsafe feelings
- Steps or procedures they follow to ensure safety
- What methods of self-defense they use
The goal of the report is to measure and understand the scope of the problem, so that real estate professionals can develop the resources, programs, and technologies they need to keep themselves safe.
Download your copy of the report (pictured above), online here.
Download NAR's Fall into Safety poster (pictured above) for sharing in your office, online here.
