Alliance for a Healthy Kansas Works to Educate Communities About KanCare Expansion
Join
Alliance for a Healthy Kansas at one of their upcoming community forums in Johnson County and learn more about the effort to expand KanCare. Alliance for a Healthy Kansas is hosting community events across Kansas to discuss what KanCare expansion would mean for Kansans.
The Alliance notes KanCare expansion would help more than 150,000 Kansans have access to health care,
which is an ongoing advocacy priority of UCS.
UCS is a part of Alliance for a Healthy Kansas' coalition of more than a hundred organizations and leaders across the state who support KanCare expansion. Business leaders, doctors and hospitals, social service and safety net organizations, faith communities, chambers of commerce, and consumer health advocates have all joined the fight to expand KanCare.
Alliance for a Healthy Kansas reports that $1.9 million of our tax dollars are being forfeited every day, along with opportunities for communities to create jobs and protect rural hospitals due lack of KanCare expansion. A recent article from the Kansas Health Institute also gives attention to the potential impact lack of KanCare expansion is having on rural hospitals.
