Dear Emma Willard School community,

I am pleased to report that the Search Committee has selected our semi-finalist candidates to interview for the 17th Head of School. Educational Directions recruited a pool of professional educators with demonstrated depth and breadth of experience. The potential candidates were exceptional by all measures and it was difficult to drop anyone from consideration. But identifying the best fit for Emma is our task.

All the semi-finalists will come to campus for tours and individual interviews with the Search Committee on Saturday and Sunday, 9/17 and 9/18. Upon completion of those interviews, we will again refine our selection down to the three finalist candidates.

Those three finalists will be coming to campus for two days each on the following dates: September 29th and 30th, October 4th and 5th, and October 13th and 14th. During those dates, times will be scheduled for parents, alumnae, and friends of the school to meet the candidates. Naturally, the entire faculty, student body, staff and administrators will have opportunities to meet and pose questions to each candidate.

The day prior to the candidates' visits, their names and current positions will be posted on the Emma website. That information will be removed after each visit.  This is standard practice. Along with the above information, the candidates' visit schedule will be posted, including the times allotted for each constituency's interactions with them. We hope many of you will take the opportunity to come to school to meet these finalists.

As a reminder, the intention is for the Board of Trustees to vote on our next Head of School at their meeting on October 21.

Thank you.
