The B & O Rotary Bell was designed with the theme of Competition, Collaboration, and Community by both the Avon and Brownsburg Rotary Clubs.  The school, Brownsburg or Avon,  that wins the most events each season will house the bell until the following season's winner is determined.

Fall Season Results: Brownsburg 4  Avon 4.
The bell will spend the next 2 months at Avon High School and then Brownsburg will house the bell for the next 2 months.  The competition will resume this winter with Girls and Boys Basketball, Boys and Girls Swimming, as well as Wrestling.

#BUILDINGBULLDOGS

Congratulations to Greg Fulling and Carson Gill they have been recognized for outstanding sportsmanship.

Greg
was recognized by his coach this week because he "exemplifies good sportsmanship in the midst of tough situations"  Greg is a true champion!
Carson was a great help Saturday morning.  He stayed after the JV game to help Mrs. Comer and Coach Adams. Carson made sure all football items were put away and the field was ready for the band contest.

We want to celebrate all the wonderful things that are happening with our athletes, coaches, and our fans.  This year we are starting something new.  We want you to nominate a player, coach, parent, and/or community member that has been "caught" showing great sportsmanship.
Just email their name and a little information about what caught your attention to: [email protected] we will then share this with our followers.
PREPARE FOR COLLEGE

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NCAA AND NAIA?
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), are two separate governing bodies of college athletics.

The NCAA is the governing body for around 1200 schools. It consists of three divisions (Division I, II, and III) and oversees 23 sports. Divisions I and II both offer athletic scholarships, with over 126,000 student-athletes receiving partial or full athletic scholarships. However, Division III student-athletes can only receive academic or non-athletic scholarships - no athletic scholarships are allowed. Each year, the NCAA hands out about $1 billion in athletic scholarships, with the rest coming from the individual school.
Conversely, the NAIA consists of 300 schools and 13 sports. The NAIA is a smaller association than the NCAA, with just over 60,000 students. It includes two divisions (Division I and II) and Division I in the NAIA is comparable to Division II in the NCAA. Over 90% of schools in the NAIA offer scholarships, and NAIA athletes receive an average of $7,000 of financial aid. However, it is impossible to say how many athletes receive scholarships because the NAIA does not have a central database like the NCAA.
