Principal's  Letter

Timberlin Creek Families,

Welcome New TCES Staff

Please join me in welcoming Jerita Sizemore as our Front Office Clerk. Mrs. Sizemore assists our school secretary, is in charge of the copy room, and helps monitor students while eating in the cafeteria. I would also like to welcome Ms. Donna Folmar with our Beyond the Bell Program. Also, please join me in welcoming Ms. Joann Bailey in our Little Eagles Learning Center.

Toys at School

Parents, we ask that you assist us with students bringing toys to school. Toys are not allowed at school unless they are for a project in the classroom. We ask that students no longer bring stuffed animals, Pokémon cards, or toys from home. If teachers allow these items to come in for a class project, the teachers will reach out to our families to let you know students were given permission for the items to come to school.

Lice Prevention

Children at school and in childcare settings are going to play, and their play may lead to the spread of head lice. However, you can take steps to prevent the spread of lice among children. Please take a moment and share these good habits with your child:

  • To reduce the chance of your child contracting a case of head lice, start by not sharing items that touch the head. Though it may be tempting to share personal belongings (especially for kids), doing so can lead to the spread of head lice. Avoid sharing:

    • combs and brushes

    • hair clips and hair accessories

    • sunglasses

    • hats and bike helmets

    • scarves and jackets

    • headsets and earbuds

Morning Parent Drop Off

In order to provide a safe morning drop off experience, please make sure you use the second entrance into the school prior to 8:05 a.m. At this time, we have busses that utilize the first parking area. For the safety of our children, please do not pass cars on Pine Tree Lane. Students on our Safety Patrol should arrive to school by 8:00 a.m., and may use the first entrance to drop off Safety Patrol students and parents should have a special pass to allow access to this school entrance area. If you are in need of a pass for a Safety Patrol student, please email Coach Jessica Lane.

Change in Transportation

Please remember to let the front office know of any transportation changes prior to 2:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday and by 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. All changes in transportation must be documented in the front office to allow for a smooth dismissal procedure. If you are volunteering at TCES and take your student with you at the end of the day, please go through the front office to alert a change in transportation for that day.

Important Dismissal Procedures

Dismissal is at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. School dismisses ONE HOUR EARLY EVERY WEDNESDAY at 1:50 p.m. For the safety of all of our students, parents are asked to call in all transportation changes no later than one half-hour before dismissal (2:15 p.m. / 1:15 p.m).  In addition, students that will be leaving early must be checked out one half-hour prior to dismissal. This allows us to disseminate this new information to all of the applicable parties and ensure that your child reaches his/her correct destination safely.  Thank you for helping us keep your child safe!

Smile!  You're on Camera!

For the safety of our students and all visitors to our campus, 24-hour video cameras (interior and exterior) are in use on our campus.

We must ask that you NOT park in the reserved parking spots.  These must be available for the staff that are here late at night.

Student Drop Off/Pick-Up
Vehicle Safety

Safety is our first concern!  Please be conscious of the safest method of letting your child exit from your vehicle.  For the safety of your child, our staff, and our safety patrol students, children must always exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Videos, Photographs and Recording
Students, parents and visitors are not allowed to videotape, photograph or make audio recordings while on school premises except for Open House and public events
(including plays, musicals, fairs, fundraiser raisers, and awards/recognitions.) All recording devices must be turned off at school. The purpose of this general rule is to foster an appropriate educational environment, prevent unwarranted disclosure of student images and information, and to comply with the requirements of the negotiated agreement with the
St. Johns Education Association.
