Staff and Community Partners Receive Board Accolades
Physical Education Teacher Receives SHAPE Idaho Middle School Physical Educator of the Year Award
Brandeis Coshow was selected as the 2016 SHAPE Idaho Middle School Physical Educator of the Year. The award will be presented on Thursday, October 6th at 12:30 p.m. at the annual SHAPE Idaho Conference held at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Meridian. Read more.
Bloom: Hunger Coalition and Community Library Serve Children
The BCSD Leadership gratefully acknowledges the support the Hunger Coalition and Community Library provided Blaine County children during the summer through Bloom. We appreciate their partnership in ensuring Blaine County children have the nurturing to become adults that contribute positively to their community and the world.
According to The Hunger Coalition, Bloom provided library cards to 178 children, checked out over 1,500 books, served 2,003 lunches to 144 children and traveled 2,320 miles during the summer of 2016 as it visited 2 locations each day, five days a week. Read more.

Hemingway Opens New Playground
Hemingway Elementary School has brand new playground equipment to enjoy this year! Due to the fact that replacement parts were becoming unavailable and that some structures were no longer compliant with current safety codes, the upgrade became a reality. Funding was provided by the Blaine County School District, the fund-raising efforts of the Hemingway Parent Auxiliary, as well as donations from St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center, and Ketchum Mayor Amy Jonas. The crew from District Buildings and Grounds worked hard all summer to complete the construction.

Science Curriculum Committee Needs Volunteers:
Calling all science enthusiasts
Deadline to apply, Friday, Sept 30. 2 year commitment
Residents of the Blaine County School District community are encouraged to apply to participate in the Instructional Materials Adoption Process for Science. Two residents of the district will be selected to participate on the Science task force. This task force is a two-year commitment.
