EDMONTON'S SENIORS POPULATION HAS GROWN

The 2016 Edmonton Census results were recently released and show that the number of seniors in Edmonton is increasing. In 2016, Edmontonians age 55+ made up 26.7 per cent of Edmonton's population compared to 24.4 per cent in 2014.

ALBERTA SENIORS ADVOCATE

Alberta's new Seniors Advocate, Dr. Sheree Kwong See, has officially opened her office and is ready to help Alberta seniors and their families. Dr. Kwong See and her new staff members will be located on the main floor of the Centre West Building at 10035 108 Street in Edmonton. CALL FOR PROPOSALS: FROM KNOWLEDGE TO ACTION
Age Friendly Edmonton

Age Friendly Edmonton is seeking proposals that are focused on translating research into action. Projects will build upon existing Age Friendly Edmonton research and resources (i.e. tool-kits, tip sheets, etc.), and/or related local and national research with a focus on one of the following themes:
  • Inclusion
  • Civic Engagement
  • Safety
Several grants, each to a maximum of $40,000 are available. Proposals are due October 3, 2016 and projects will need to be completed by March 31, 2018.
