An outdoor community theatre led by volunteers, A
nnapolis Summer Garden Theatre produces musical theatre
-featuring live music- every summer at "one of the most unique venues in the area" (BroadwayWorld.com 6/30/2016). The theatre celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and is enjoying enthusiastic support from its patrons, volunteers, donors and business sponsors, and artistic community.
At this time, ASGT is accepting resumes from individuals interested in serving on its volunteer Board of Directors in the following positions, which are vacant or up for re-election this year: President, Secretary, Box Office, Public Relations, Development, Volunteer, Technical, and Production. Serving on the Board is a great way to learn new skills, grow your resume, and give back to the community. Job descriptions for the available positions can be found online in ASGT's Organization Manual.

A NEW LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY IN ROCKVILLE
The Katherine Thomas School Lower/Middle School Director
Anticipated Start Date: March-June, 2017 OR EARLIER
Located in a 47,000 sq. ft. two story building in the Washington, DC suburban community of Rockville MD, The Katherine Thomas School is an independent day school designed to meet the needs of students preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1 through 12 (ages 4-21) with diagnosed moderate to severe language and learning disabilities and/or mild to moderate autism, who may display difficulties in other development areas. The school's total enrollment capacity is 200 students. The Lower/Middle School, grade Pre-K through 8th, has capacity for 100 students and currently has 50 faculty/staff.
The ideal candidate for the next Lower/Middle School Director should be an experienced educator or clinician who understands the needs of elementary and middle school students and is knowledgeable about curriculum for these grade levels. it is anticipated that he/she should have:
* Six years teaching, administration or supervision and experience in a special education school, preferably a school with students placed through their local school system
* Experience with multi-disciplinary team environment for delivery of services to students
* Proven collaborative leadership ability and communication skills with students, parents, faculty and community
* Demonstrated competence in selecting, training, supervising and evaluation of staff in co- ordination with the Executive Director

He Will Reveal Marketing Strategies and 5 year Growth Predictions
The Central Chesapeake chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) will feature Annapolis resident Gary Jobson, world class sailor and President of the National Sailing Hall of Fame, as its guest speaker on
Wednesday, September 28. The program will be held from
noon to 1:30 pm at the Annapolis Yacht Club (Dock Street Temporary Clubhouse) at 12 Dock Street, downtown Annapolis. With the Annapolis Boat Shows just around the corner, Jobson will reveal the marketing strategies of the maritime industry in Anne Arundel County along with his five-year predictions for the local maritime industry. Jobson will discuss how the public view of sailing went through a revolutionary change with the advent of ESPN and strategies of international marketing.
The program is co-sponsored by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce and includes lunch which costs $25 for members and $30 for non-members.

Is there an electric vehicle in your future? Probably!
Come learn about what it's like to drive electric as AAACCC member Annapolis Green, partnering with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC and the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club, hosts the Annapolis Showcase of electric vehicles as part of National Drive Electric Week at Susan Campbell Park on City Dock, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 10.
Owners and dealers of electric vehicles will encourage the public to "Ask me why I drive electric!" with the Historic Annapolis Harbor as a backdrop. At this fun and informative event, the public can get information about what it's like to drive electric including range, how and where to charge, cost, performance, benefits to the environment, and government incentives.
Most of the vehicles will be brought to the event by individual owners, who can talk about their personal experiences with plug-in transportation. Some will be brought by dealers who can offer information about lease and purchase.
Electric vehicles are good for your wallet and good for the environment. They offer instant torque and quick acceleration makes driving fun. Electric motors are whisper quiet with no vibration. There's almost no maintenance: The simple drivetrain has few moving parts to repair or replace. By plugging in, drivers can go 100 miles on $4 of electricity - that's 4 cents per mile! Electric vehicles use domestically produced electricity instead of foreign oil. And more and more electricity is being produced from clean, renewable fuel sources.
Among the vehicles participating are the BMW i3 REx, BMW i8, Cadillac ELR, Chevrolet Volt, Chevy Spark EV, Tesla Model S, BMWi8, Nissan LEAF, Kia Soul, Think City, Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive, Electric Drive Coupe Smart Car, and a converted Porsche 914 and a converted Toyota Prius.
There will be information about charging infrastructure, energy efficiency, and electric boat dealers have been invited to participate.
Annapolis is one of more than 100 cities across the country participating in National Drive Electric Week.
It will be a fun, free, afternoon where the future meets the past at Historic Annapolis Harbor.

Seminar Series for Adults
This year's Seminar Series theme is Thoughtful Laughter: Satire and Humor from Ancient Greece to Modern Day. Seminars begin

6:30-8:30 p.m. to discuss and debate select works from literature, poetry, and film. Registration is $20 per seminar or $120 for the full series.
LEAD Program: Write Well for Memoirs, Magazines and the Web
Instructed by Capital Gazette columnist, bestselling author, and American University Professor Iris Krasnow, this course is designed to teach the fundamentals of journalistic writing as well as how to market stories to print and online publications. Class will meet Tuesdays from
6:00-8:00 p.m.,
September 27 - November 8. Registration is $550.
LEAD Program: Authentic Leadership
In this course, students work together to identify and hone their own and each others' authentic leadership styles. Instructed by Elizabeth Buckman, Vice-President of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, classes will meet Wednesdays from
