Fourth Grade Bibles:   At South Church, we believe that fourth graders are at a point in their spiritual development where they can understand and truly appreciate the Bible. On Sunday, September 25 during the 10a.m. worship service, we will give them their own bible to use during class and to keep for their own. If you would like your son/daughter to receive a bible, please let Alison know by e-mailing her [email protected]

Mission of the Month
Neighbors in Need Offering

"This we believe... No child should go to bed Hungry"
This year's offering focuses on food insecurity for more than 15 million children in the U.S.  These children live in households that struggle to put food on the table.  With grants from Justice and Witness Ministries, local churches design varied projects like packing snack food (go packs) for over the Christmas vacation or dedicating fields of potatoes and carrots for the area food banks.  Justice and Witness also works with UCC Justice and Peace Action Network ( made up of local advocates) on issues such as the federal budget, voting rights, immigration, health care and environmental justice.  Again this year one third of this offering supports the UCC's Council for American Indian Ministries (CAIM).  Today there are 20 UCC congregations on reservations and one urban, multi tribal church in Minneapolis.  No child, nor their families, should go to bed hungry in the U.S.

Offering envelopes can be found in the pew racks or send your gift directly to South Church, 27 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301

God be with you.

Planned Giving
The Planned Giving Committee has put together a series of "Frequently Asked Questions," which will appear in the next few versions of the E-lation, and will be posted on the Church website for future reference. We welcome your thoughts and additional questions. Our hope is to continue the conversation about Planned Giving throughout the year; feel free to speak to any one of us about these topics.

FAQ #1:        What is Planned Giving?
Planned Giving refers to a gift made to the church as part of an estate plan. It is separate from your annual pledge, and it is not part of any capital campaign. A planned gift is most often done through your Last Will and Testament or Revocable Trust. However, a planned gift could also take the form of a beneficiary designation (of a retirement account or a life insurance policy, for example) or an annuity. Planned Giving is a way to become part of something much larger than yourself, linking generations. It allows you to leave a legacy for your family and for the church, as a demonstration of what you valued during your life.

The Wisdom Way Community
Invites you to join them.

The Wisdom Way Community of South Congregational Church is a contemplative community of prayer and spiritual companioning for developing and deepening our relationships with God and with each other. We believe our journey toward God requires a communal commitment to continually examine our expression of faith, day by day, to determine what hinders and what cultivates our spiritual growth and service to the world.  Click here for more information
