HOMECOMING WEEK 2016
This weekend is the kick off to our Homecoming Festivities! The week begins on Sunday, September 11 with the Kick It kickball tournament beginning at 1:30pm, the Senior-Junior girls Powderpuff game at 6:40pm, and the Pep Rally/Bonfire at 8:00pm, all at Zierolf Field. The Cameo Pizza Truck will be available all day with fresh, hot pizza and TLC will be selling cold drinks. Next week is Spirit Week, where all students preschool through grade 12 can participate! The Spirit Week schedule may be found below. On Friday, September 16, the Homecoming Parade will leave Sts. Peter and Paul School at 5:30pm and arrive at Strobel Field. At 6:00pm there is an Endzone Tailgate Party for all SMCC Alums, sponsored by the SCCS Education Foundation. Cheer on the Panther Football team as they take on Loudonville at 7:00pm. The winner of the $5000 Gold Rush Raffle will be drawn at halftime!
 
The week wraps up on Saturday, September 17, with the Mile for Mary, beginning at 11:00am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. The Homecoming Dance, grades 9-12, will be held Saturday night in "The Den" from 8:00pm - 11:00pm. Go Panthers!

Friday: Spirit Wear

*If your student chooses not to participate in Spirit Week, they must wear their school uniform.

HOMECOMING DANCE AND LAZER TAG TICKETS
Saturday, September 17, SMCC will host the "New Year's Eve" Homecoming Dance in The Den from 8:00 - 11:00pm. Tickets are $10 per person in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased during lunch. Lazer Tag is optional, $1 per play.
 
HOMECOMING PARADE
Please contact Chad Kresser by email or at 419-627-9422 if you are interested in a participating in the Homecoming Parade, Friday September 16. Parade line up begins at 5:00pm, heading out at 5:30pm for Strobel Field.
 
SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR
 
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has designated Friday, September 9, as a National Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities. SCCS will be participating with specific prayers for peace in the morning and afternoon, as well as during the student-led afternoon reflection.

SCHOOL MASS
Please refer to Dynacal for our school Mass schedule. All parents and families are welcome and encouraged to join our students in prayer.

CATECHETICAL SUNDAY
Catechetical Sunday is specially designed to recognize our teachers in their role as "teacher-ministers" regardless of what subject they teach. Please join one of our Sandusky Catholic Parishes for Mass on Saturday, September 17 or Sunday, September 18 to witness our teachers rededicate themselves to this mission of our church through their profession.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT
There will be Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 8 at 3:00pm in the parking lot of Cedar Point Stadium. Click here for the registration form. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Stay and cheer on the Panthers as they host the Lakota Raiders. Proceeds benefit the SMCC Football Team.
 
2016 PINK-OUT FOOTBALL GAME
Join us on Saturday, October 8 for the SMCC Pink-Out Football game. The game is sponsored by Firelands Regional Medical Center, and is to support breast cancer awareness and prevention. Click here to purchase your official Pink-Out tshirt.
 


GOLD RUSH RAFFLE STUDENT SALES
Remember students, sell your raffle tickets by Thursday, September 15, and receive 1 ice cream coupon for every 10 tickets sold!  Ice cream coupons are to be redeemed in the cafeteria. Also, when returning tickets and money, please make sure the student's name is on the envelope.  Thank you!

PANTHER SPORTS YARD SIGNS
Show your support for your favorite Panther Athlete, Cheerleader or Marching Band Member with a Panther yard sign.  Signs are $20 and may be customized for students in elementary through high school.   Please click on the link for an order form, and return to the main office. Go Panthers!  

VICTORY DAY 2016
Victory Day returns for the third year to Kalahari Field at Huron Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 10, from 2-3:30pm. The Huron and St. Mary Central Catholic High School varsity football teams, cheerleaders ,and marching bands are co-hosting a special event for children with severe learning and physical disabilities. Participants will be partnered with a Huron High School or St. Mary football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentor for the day. Each child is provided with a full game day experience and given an opportunity to run or catch a pass for a touchdown.  Please join us for this wonderful event!

MILE FOR MARY
Join the Sandusky Catholic Community for the 4th Annual Mile for Mary on Saturday, September 17, at 11:00am .  This is an awesome event to show our support for our Church and community.  The Mile for Mary starts at 11am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.

BOY SCOUT MEETING   
On Monday, September 12 there will be a Troop 7 Boy Scout meeting in the PPC from 7:00pm - 8:30pm.

PICK UP PROCEDURES
Just a friendly reminder that at pick up, the lane closest to the school will be designated for preschool parents until 2:40. Thank you for your help!

PANTHER MINI CHEER CLINIC
Saturday, October 8, the Panther Cheerleaders will be hosting a football season mini cheer clinic for students in preschool through 5th grade.  The High School and Junior High cheerleaders will work with the students to learn healthy nutrition, proper stretching techniques, motions, jumps, sideline chants, group cheer, tumbling, and dances.  Participants will receive a team t-shirt and are invited to join our Panther cheerleaders during the first quarter of the Varsity football game.  The football game is also "pink out" night, so we would love to see everyone decked out in their pink gear in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention!  Please click here for registration form.

STATE THEATRE TRIP
On Wednesday, September 14, students in grades 1-3 will be taking a walking field trip to The Sandusky State Theatre for the opportunity to see the live performance of "Town Mouse and City Mouse."  All costs associated with this program have been underwritten by the principal benefactors of the Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, Frost Parker Foundation and the Rotary Star Program.

ALL SEASON SPORTS PASS
Get an All Season Sports Pass to any SCCS home contest for grades 7-12 for only $100. Pass will be on sale in the main office. Go Panthers!

HIGH SCHOOL RECOMMENDED ENGLISH TEXTBOOK
The SMCC English Department recommends that all high school students purchase a personal copy of the MLA Handbook, 8th edition. This book is a guide for citation and style that students will reference throughout their high school and college years .
