The "ColoradoCare" universal healthcare proposal on the November ballot could have a significant impact on dentistry and dental practices. At its Sept. 17 Board of Trustees meeting, CDA leadership will hear presentations from proponents and opponents of this proposed Colorado constitutional amendment and discuss whether to formally support or oppose the measure.
The U.S. Department of Labor published a new rule that changes the salary and compensation levels needed for executive, administrative and professional staff to be considered exempt from overtime pay. The rule, which goes into effect Dec. 1, 2016, carries steep penalties for those who don't comply. Is your practice affected?

The ADA has a new, free service to help dentists with their professional credentialing. The ADA Credentialing Service allows dentists to input, store and update their professional credentials in a centralized location. After information is entered, it then will be available to third-party payers, hospitals and employers.
ADA 2016 is Oct. 20-24 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. If you haven't already registered or signed up for continuing education (CE) courses, it might be a good idea to do so before Friday, Sept. 16, when fees for both registration and CE will increase.
In conjunction with ADA 2016, the ADA will be hosting the New Dentist Committee Conference Oct. 20-22. Earn up to six continuing education credit hours a day, unwind at the New Dentist Reception and be inspired by Malala Yousafzai's life story. This opportunity, which includes the New Dentist Conference, ADA 2016 registration and most meals, is only $350.
You've always earned continuing education (CE) for professional growth. Now, effective March 1, 2016, it's required by law in the state of Colorado. The American Dental Association has created an online CE module, hosted on its website, where you easily can log all of the CE courses you've taken and credits you've earned.
It's almost dues time! The CDA Easy Pay program once again is available to members for dues renewal. This plan helps you manage your cash flow more efficiently and reduces your year-end expenses. The CDA does not charge a service fee for this benefit.
The Colorado Dental Political Action Committee (CODPAC) board of directors will hold its 2016 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the CDA Headquarters, 8301 E. Prentice Ave., Ste. 400, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Interested CODPAC contributors are welcome to attend.
