If Your Sunflower Butter Doesn't Say SunButter®, It Isn't
As the leading peanut-free spread in both homes and schools, many consumers have come to think that all sunflower butter is SunButter®. To ensure schools that want to serve SunButter® know to order the brand by name, the company is launching a marketing and branding campaign explaining what makes SunButter® the market leader and why schools should specify it by name when ordering sunflower butter.
Currently, SunButter® is menued in over 12,000 U.S. schools and that number has grown dramatically in the last 10 years, as over 60% of U.S. schools now restrict or prohibit peanut products and peanut butter.
To help schools manage the transition from peanut butter to SunButter®, the brand has created a complete school foodservice toolkit that includes a How To Introduce & Test SunButter® video, a Farm To Table food safety video, a School Foodservice Recipe Book, posters, stickers, and other materials to make sure menuing SunButter® is easy and successful.

OSNA's Annual Industry Seminar & USDA Foods Show on Friday, October 21, 2016. We will again gather at the Camp Withycombe Armory/Event Center in Clackamas.

JOIN THE NOVEMBER SCHOOL BREAKFAST CHALLENGE

 As part of
Let's Do Breakfast, Oregon! campaign, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, Oregon Dairy and Nutrition Council and Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs are excited to announce the second annual
2016 November School Challenge.
Schools are encouraged to enroll to celebrate school breakfast, boost student participation and win cool prizes!
Through the School Breakfast Challenge, participating schools will gear up to increase student participation in the School Breakfast Program for the month of November. The schools with the greatest increases in participation will receive prizes, and all Challenge schools will be celebrated widely!
The first 100 schools to register will receive School Breakfast Expansion Toolkits, complete with marketing and promotional materials, templates and other resources for student, family, and staff engagement. Additional schools that register will receive a digital version of the toolkit.

 Over 7,000 school nutrition professionals came together in San Antonio, TX in July, making the 2016 Annual National Conference (ANC) one of the highest attended
School Nutrition Association (SNA) conferences. The meeting attracted nearly 1,400 directors and more than 1,200 managers and school foodservice employees who participated in educational sessions and got to experience our largest exhibit hall floor to date, with over 900 booths.
