First Community Gathering features Dr. Mark Roberts

Community Gathering kicked off on Wednesday, Sept. 14, with a presentation by Dr. Mark A. Roberts, vice president and dean for Academic Affairs, titled "Rooted Cosmopolitanism: Placing Yourself in the World."

Community Gatherings are planned throughout the fall semester including Sept. 28 when Dr. David Gushee, distinguished university professor of Christian ethics at Mercer University, will present "The Elusive Quest for Racial Justice in America."

President's College brings lifelong learning to local communities

Taking learning off campus and contributing to the community around the University is something that Reinhardt faculty and staff feel is of great importance.
The President's College is a new community education program started by Reinhardt University President, Dr. Kina S. Mallard. The idea is to send select faculty from the University to provide short lectures on a variety of topics to the communities that surround the institution. The President's College is one way that we as an institution can give back to the people who so strongly support Reinhardt University. ...

Come out tonight and enjoy comedy while supporting new leadership program

Enjoy a side-splittingly hilarious show at Reinhardt's beautiful Falany Performing Arts Center while helping to empower young women.
Tennessee native Leanne Morgan is bringing her comedy show to Waleska to help raise funds for the University's new leadership program for women. The Reinhardt Women's Leadership Program is aimed at empowering young women and giving them opportunity to interact with successful, strong women from across the state of Georgia. Ten freshmen are selected each year to participate and receive scholarships for their involvement.

Reinhardt students spend time serving at Goshen Valley

The Reinhardt community took a trip to the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch to give a helping hand.
On Saturday, Sept. 10, 45 Reinhardt University students came out in support of the event. The people in attendance consisted of the RU Men's Basketball team and Head Coach Jason Gillespie, as well as other students from Reinhardt University. The volunteers spent four hours helping at Goshen by building wheelchair ramps, painting bedrooms and building fencing.
"One of our sophomores (Elijah Hirsh) brought the opportunity to serve, alongside fellow RU students, to my attention. He thought it would be a great idea and our three senior captains (Justin Bridges, Duncan Jones, and Nehemiah Jones) readily agreed when I approached them with the idea," Coach Gillespie said. ...

Inaugural Clay Shooting Classic, Oct. 14, to benefit student success scholarships for athletes

Seeking a new and innovative way to raise funds for student-athlete scholarships, Reinhardt University created its Inaugural Clay Shooting Classic set for October.
"Our student-athletes give their all day-after-day in class, on the practice field and during games," said RU Athletic Director Bill Popp. "The inaugural Clay Shooting Classic gives an alternative exciting fundraising event of which you can be a part. The money raised helps our current and future student-athletes offset the costs of earning their postsecondary education." ...

Allie Hale scores 'golden goal' to defeat Brenau
Allie Hale scored the golden goal in the second overtime from the penalty spot as No. 22 Reinhardt defeated Brenau, 2-1, in double overtime to move to 6-1 on the season entering Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Lady Eagles got on the board in the second period. Hale worked a short corner to Katie, who arced a shot into the back of the net to tie the score, 1-1. The two sides would stay even through the rest of regulation and the first 10-minute overtime period.
