Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

As I write to you this week, I am reminded again of just how blessed we are at Cascade United Methodist Church. I was "counting my blessings" in anticipation of participating in the 10 th Anniversary Heart of Marriage Retreat, at the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort ( 4021 Lakeview Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 ), Friday-Sunday. In collaboration with several other churches, our Marriage Ministry leadership has planned another great weekend of fun, relaxation, and relevant workshops that will strengthen and enhance our marriages. Karen and I are excited and look forward to being with all of you who have already registered. For the rest of you, IT'S NOT TOO LATE! Without a doubt, in the midst of all the challenges that we face continually, it becomes vitally important to take the time to attend to our marriages. After all, for many of us, our marriages are the supporting unit to the larger family, whether they be children, parents, siblings, grandparents, or others. While I am totally convinced that not all persons need to be married, in order to be fulfilled, I am just as convinced that for those of us who need marriage to feel fulfilled, it is indeed a life-giving and life-saving gift from God. For this reason, God ensures that all the provisions we need for our marriages are available to us.

The Heart of Marriage Retreat 2016, Back to the Basics is certainly one of the many ways God wants to bless marriages-to make them stronger and healthier. Though couples have some built-in habits and practices that keep them secure, the Retreat can be that 'something special' that takes them to newer heights. Be assured, if you are newlyweds or married a long time ago, this weekend can enrich your relationship. Join us and give God a chance to help you create "a threefold cord that is not quickly broken."
