Call to Action: Please Provide Your Input!
Rural Health Network of South Central New York consistently strives to meet our mission of improving the health and well-being of rural people and communities. To take the next step in achieving this goal, we are in the process of developing a formal Advocacy Plan for the 2017 calendar year.

As we narrow down our areas of advocacy focus, we ask that you, the readership of our newsletter, share your perspectives via this brief survey. As the leaders in rural health and human services in our region, we highly value your input to determine the direction of this plan.

We ask that all responses be submitted by Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Recruitment Message
The first half of September has been an eventful time for Rural Health Service Corps (RHSC). We had twelve new full-time members start on September 1st at sites such as CHOW, Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network, Lourdes Hope Dispensary, SUNY Upstate, Rural Health Network, VINES, and United Way! On Day of Caring (September 9th), these new members, along with our remaining 2015-2016 members, spent the afternoon at the CHOW Farm, where members cut through undergrowth, cleared away fencing, shelled peas, and washed vegetables.

There are still RHSC positions available for the 2016-2017 term, including a VISTA position with Delaware Connects, which would involve recruiting and managing volunteers in Delaware County to support older adults and people with disabilities. To learn more about RHSC and our available positions,  please visit:  ruralhealthnetwork.org/americorps . or contact Haley Desilet.
