Looking to Volunteer?

There are a few opportunities parents have to volunteer:
  • Become involved with Mount Union Women!  Mount Union Women was founded in 1933 to support the education of women. Any female graduate or friend of the University may be a member. The organization has active chapters in Alliance and Canton/Massillon that work the concession stands at home football games and host programs throughout the year to raise money for scholarships. Numerous scholarships are awarded each year to deserving female students at Mount Union.  Contact the Alumni Office at alumni@mountunion.edu indicating your interest.
  • Become a career mentor through our web-based Exceptional Connections program.  This exciting program was designed specifically for Mount Union and recently launched to connect students, alumni and friends of the institution.  Connect for mentoring, shadowing or internship opportunities, classroom speaking possibilities and connecting for general career advice.
  • Participate in M Club events. M Club is the alumni varsity letter winner association that holds several events throughout the year to support current Raider athletic programs.  All Raider fans are invited to their annual Reverse Raffle & Silent Auction and their summer Golf Outing.

U and the President
Welcome to the 2016-2017 Academic Year at the University of Mount Union.  Whether you are new to the Parent Association or an already-involved parent of a returning student, we thank you for entrusting us with your students' futures. I assure you that their success is our top priority as we strive to provide each and every one of them with an experience that is exceptional and rewarding.

Mount Union provides an educational experience with outstanding results. Among our 17,000 alumni are individuals who are making an impact throughout our nation and around the world, both professionally and through service to their communities and beyond. Whether recent graduates or veterans in their careers, they are living proof that a Mount Union education prepares students for a rewarding future. The following are just a few examples.
Clearly, we are very proud of these graduates and all of
their fellow alumni. They are a testament to the type of experience we provide, and they truly illustrate that a  Mount Union education is a proven investment. We are
very pleased to call them our own!

As president of Mount Union, I can think of  nothing  more  rewarding than  witnessing our students'
transformations into productive, energetic and compassionate contributors to the world, and I look  forward to witnessing first-hand all that your students will accomplish now and into the future. It is  truly a pleasure to work hand-in-hand with you in  encouraging your students to reach their full potential.

Fraternity and Sorority Life at Mount Union
There are a variety of ways in which a student can get involved in campus life, and one of those is to consider joining a fraternity or sorority. F raternities and sororities  have long been part of student life at Mount Union, dating  back to 1875.

When a student chooses to join a fraternity or sorority, it is an exciting and significant step in his or her life.  This important decision requires the support and understanding of parents and other family members. The fraternity or sorority experience teaches numerous unique life lessons, develops a number of various skills, and provides life-long connections and networking opportunities with chapter members across the country.

Mount Union Greek Life 101:
  • 190 new members initiated in 2015-2016
  • 28,373 hours of community service donated
  • 3.20 is the all-fraternity/sorority GPA (higher than the all campus average)
  • $51,342 donated to various philanthropic endeavors
  • 28% of the undergraduate population is a member of a fraternity or sorority
  • 87% of members are also involved in at least one other student organization on campus
To learn more about these benefits or about the process of joining, called recruitment, be sure to encourage your student to visit the University's website, or contact the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership at (330) 823-2885 or [email protected] .
