Progress continues with improvement work on two major projects
If you've driven through the Fields Ertel area recently, you've probably noticed a few orange barrels along the way. Those orange barrels signify progress is being made to improve safety, ease congestion and expand access to business and shopping throughout the area.
Specifically, construction crews have been working day and night (literally) on two major projects:
Expanding the exit lane at the Northbound I-71 exit, and extending the gore (the white striped area that separates exiting traffic from traffic that is continuing through on I-71).
The Loop Ramp Project, also at the Northbound I-71 exit - this project will relieve congestion at the Fields-Ertel and Mason-Montgomery Road intersection by allowing northbound traffic to bypass the intersection altogether. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2015, but work is well underway right now.
We will post any information about lane closures or detours on our website and our Facebook and Twitter pages, so be sure to check on-line periodically for current traffic impacts and information.
Work moves forward on the I-71 northbound exit at

BE ALERT: NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN
AT NORTHBOUND EXIT
As the Ohio Department of Transportation continues work at the Northbound exit, changes to the traffic pattern may happen occasionally. Additional signage is being placed in the area to alert drivers to the new configuration at the exit ramp, but as always, we encourage people to slow down and use caution when driving through work areas.
Thanks for your patience, and please continue to drive carefully through this area as we work to improve safety, ease congestion, and expand access to business and shopping.
