We're making significant progress at the
Fields-Ertel/Mason-Montgomery interchange to ease congestion, improve safety and expand access to business and shopping.
To give a visual perspective of our project status, we've updated our homepage at AdvancingFieldsErtel.com to provide a graphic that shows what's been completed and what's next:
Our work began in the Spring of 2012, and since then we've:
- Upgraded twenty-two computer controllers within local traffic signals to allow signal timing to be coordinated more effectively so that traffic can flow more easily
- Added a new lane on northbound Mason- Montgomery Road
- Relocated the pump station that helps provide water service to the area. This relocation was necessary to prepare for the construction of the loop ramp.
- Widened the southbound exit ramp from I-71
- Expanded the northbound exit at I-71
- Extended the gore at the northbound exit at I-71. (The gore refers to the triangle of white lines which separates exiting traffic from traffic that is continuing on I-71.)
We're currently working on the
Loop Ramp Project, which should be completed by this time next year.
As always, thank you for your patience, and please remember to reduce your speed in construction zones.
