Project partners celebrate regional cooperation

The $14 million loop ramp project relieves congestion and increases
safety
at the busy Fields-Ertel interchange by allowing northbound traffic to by-pass the intersection (Fields-Ertel Road and Mason-Montgomery Road).
"This northbound exit loop ramp makes for a safer, smarter interchange to eliminate delays, keep traffic moving and improve safety," said Warren County Engineer Neil F. Tunison, PE, PS.
Tammy Campbell, Ohio Department of Transportation Deputy District 8 Director, along with Warren County Commissioner Dave Young, Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune, the governor's liaison Sherri Carbo, and OKI's Mark Policinski each spoke about the regional, multi-jurisdictional cooperation that enabled this project to be completed significantly ahead of schedule and under budget.
"These improvements support economic development and improve access to one of the most important employment hubs in southwest Ohio," said Warren County Commissioner Dave Young. "Ensuring that our local workforce can travel safely and efficiently to their destination is one of our key transportation priorities for this area, and we are pleased to see the completion of this work as it supports both current and future job creation in our area."
This project builds off of other recent improvements to the Fields-Ertel Interchange which include the northbound exit / gore extension and lane expansion, the southbound exit additional right turn lane onto Mason-Montgomery Road, the new lane constructed on northbound Mason-Montgomery Road, and 22 traffic signal improvements.
