Mass. crop damage estimated at $14M, aid available in four counties
Farmers in Essex, Franklin, Middlesex and Worcester counties who have watched the ongoing drought decimate their crops now qualify for federal natural disaster assistance by virtue of a U.S. Department of Agriculture disaster declaration in New Hampshire. Read more here. 
 
Cape Medical Supply opens new SleepExpress location in Warwick, Rhode Island
On Setpember 1, 2016, Cape Medical Supply opened its newest SleepExpress location on the Lambert Lind Highway in Warwick, Rhode Island. The Warwick expansion is Cape Medical Supply's third new location in 2016, including a new SleepExpress facility in Plymouth and the purchase of New England Medical Homecare in Auburn. EMV - A Year Later
Almost a year has passed since the fraud liability shift for retailers, restaurants and hotels occurred in October 2015, driving the shift from old magnetic stripe credit cards to new EMV chip-enabled credit cards. Now if fraud occurs, whichever party is not using EMV technology is liable for the loss. If the card wasn't EMV chip-enabled, the liability is on the card issuing bank. If the merchant doesn't have an EMV chip-capable machine, then the merchant bears the responsibility. Read the full article here.

Simon announces new Mall Manager

Simon Property Group Inc. has announced that James Alexander has been named Mall Manager at Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis. As Mall Manager at Cape Cod Mall, Alexander will be responsible for financial, marketing and operational performance of the center while managing day-to-day operations, creating and implementing annual operating budgets, overseeing local leasing, and lease administration.
