Online Tutoring Now Available
The Academic Support Center (ASC) has launched a new online tool to help students gain on-demand access to tutors 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Fullerton College Online Tutoring, which is provided by Smarthinking, allows students to chat live with a tutor, submit writing assignments, and gain support for a wide range of subjects including all writing courses, math, accounting, statistics, biology, and many more subjects. Annual ¡Bienvenidos! takes place Sept. 13
The Cadena Cultural Center and Associated
Students will host the 12th annual ¡Bienvenidos! A Day of Welcome & Celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the quad. The free event, which is open to the campus community, is designed to inspire and encourage all students in their quest for academic success. Students can connect with instructional resources, student-led organizations, student support services, and academic departments. With Hope Discusses Suicide Prevention and Awareness
With Hope, a non-profit organization, will be on campus to discuss suicide prevention and awareness. This event is open to all students, staff, and faculty and is on Sept. 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 1440. The Sociology Club and Health Services will host. Save the Date: Women's Empowerment Summit
The summit hosted by the Ethnic Studies Department provides knowledge about resources and networking opportunities for a cross section of women participants by age, culture and interest including college students, small business owners, nonprofit leaders, community leaders and elected officials to succeed and improve their lives. The event will be on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Food Bank Provides Meals for Students in Need
The FC Food Bank is available every Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. for all students in need. Students taking three or more units are eligible to receive nutritious food at the Food Bank located in Room 1955. Visit the

Ways to Strengthen Your Critical Thinking Skills
Basic Skills is hosting various student success workshops during Fall 2016. These workshops are open to all Fullerton College students, in any discipline, and are facilitated by graduate students in the Basic Skills Graduate Student Mentorship Program. This week's workshop is on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 808A.

Women's Basketball
FC sophomore Emilee Dy will play for Whittier College this coming season as she signed with the Poets on Friday. Family and friends gathered in the Hornets Nest to congratulate Emilee on her success. "I am so very grateful for all of the support that I have gotten from Fullerton College, and I'm shocked by how many people that came out today. Fullerton is like home and I will miss it," said Dy.

Women's Soccer
Fullerton opened up the 2016 season with a 5-2 win at home on Friday against Palomar College. The game was scoreless until the second half when the Hornets exploded with five goals to grab the win. Up Next: FC (1-0 overall) will host El Camino College today at 2 p.m.
