The USHJA Board of Directors will hear candidate presentations and elect one of two nominees as President during their meeting scheduled for September 12
. The two candidates nominated for the Office of President for the USHJA are Diane Carney and Mary Babick. The Board of Directors meeting will be held Monday, September 12, at 1 p.m. CT at the Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport Hotel in Dallas, Texas, and a recorded webcast of the meeting will be posted on the USHJA website no later than the following day.

The Vital Horse Show Staff Award was c
reated to honor and recognize competition support staff, often working behind the scenes, whose current role is essential to the success of our horse shows. These announcers, starters, secretaries, technical coordinators, facility managers and their crews, ring crews and assistants of every type, who every day assist in moving our sport forward, are often overlooked and unacknowledged when awards are being distributed. The deadline to nominate a deserving individual for this award is Wednesday, October 5.

USHJA will be undergoing a large-scale committee reseating process toward the end of 2016 and the Association is looking for interested, engaged volunteers willing to serve on the nearly 50 committees, task forces and working groups that make up the Association and help to pave the future of hunter/jumper sport.
Being involved in a committee is a great way to shape the organization, gain valuable experience, share your experience with others, and support the future of our sport. Whether your expertise lies in finance or management, or your passion is pony hunters or young jumpers, there is a USHJA committee, task force, or working group for you.
