August and September I-71 lane closures
at the Socialville-Fosters Road Bridge
The beams are in place for the Socialville-Fosters Road bridge over I-71! With that portion of the project complete, the 15-minute full closures have ended. Work for this project continues to move forward. Read below for some additional traffic impacts that will continue on I-71 as we make progress on this major improvement for our area...

for the Socialville-Fosters Road bridge over I-71
Just a reminder that while the full closures on I-71 have ended, there will still be some impacts to traffic.
There will be various lane closures in place nightly, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., to accommodate ongoing construction of the bridge. These closures will be in place through Friday, September 9, and during these times, traffic will be maintained, but there will be an adjustment to traffic patterns on I-71 moving through the project area. Drivers are cautioned to reduce their speeds and pay attention to signage and roadway markers indicating a shift in traffic patterns.
And one additional note: to accommodate the vacationing and traveling public over Labor Day weekend, all lanes through the project area will be opened.
From Friday, September 2, at 12:00 p.m., until Tuesday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m., there will be no lane closures in place in the project area.
