Joint Happy Hour with CSI
When:   Thursday, September 8, 2016, 5:00 -7:00 PM.
Where:  Luckett & Farley Patio, 737 South Third Street, Louisville, KY
 
The Louisville CSI Chapter is hosting a joint meeting with the AIA-CKC on September 8th.  The meeting will be a "Happy-Hour" event, at Luckett & Farley (737 S. 3rd Street).  We will meet on their second floor patio, for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, networking, and games.  Festivities will begin at 5 PM and wrap up at 7 PM.  Drinks will be provided by George Fauth of the National Gypsum Company.  We look forward to seeing you there.

MBI Architectural Tour & Guided Learning Experience of Eminence Independent Schools
When: Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Tour begins at 11:30 and the Lunch & presentation starts at noon
Where: Eminence High School - 254 West Broadway, Eminence, KY 40019
Program:  Tour- Eminence School tour performed by project architect Steve Ward, AIA.
Presentation- Education: Work 2 Learn. The program discusses disruptive changes in technology and how they have enabled changes in behavior and space use. Increased mobility, emphasis on cooperation & interactivity are changing how we work, learn and live.

CEU Credit: No AIA credit offered, 1 Hour approved through IDCEC for credit with IIDA, ASID, and IDC.

SeptSeptember Program Announced:  Quarry Tour
September Program - Tour of imi Sellersburg Stone Quarry
Location:  1019 East Utica Street, Sellersburg, IN.  
Date/Time:  Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 5:30pm 
 
Program Schedule:
5:30 PM: Arrive at imi Sellersburg Stone, 1019 East Utica Street, Sellersburg, IN. Come to the Shelter House behind the office. (Weather could alter meeting location)
5:45 PM: Refreshments, Welcome and history of the facility.
6:00 PM: Tour imi Sellersburg Stone Quarry Pit
6:15 PM: Tour imi Sellerburg Stone CMI Drum Mix Plant
6:30 PM: Tour Construction Material Lab, (CML) Mix Design Lab for Asphalt, Concrete and Aggregate.
7:00 PM: Return to Shelter House for Questions and Summary.

Irving Materials Group Group of Companies operates 20 limestone quarries in Indiana, 19 Asphalt Plants, Indiana, (E&B Paving) and 160 Ready Mix Plants in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. 

Imi Sellersburg Stone is the largest limestone Quarry in this region. Our plant produces over 800 ton per hour. The pit is 200' deep, we produce from 5 formations, 3 class A ledges. We produce construction aggregate for concrete, asphalt production.

Our CMI Drum mix plant, produces over 500 ton per hour. Largest asphalt plant in the region. Production will be over 400,000 ton this season.

Construction Materials Laboratory, (CML) is an ASHTO Approved Lab. CML develops mix designs for Concrete and Asphalt as well as Aggregate Quality Control. INDOT, KYDOT and FAA mix designs are the majority of our work.
