A Heartfelt Letter |
|
Recently, Sassy, Anne Webb's therapy companion, passed away. It is hard to know exactly what to say to grieving family when a beloved pet has passed. This letter that Anne shared with the PAWS office sweetly celebrates Sassy and what she meant to the kids she visited this summer.
"Hi Anne,
"We were so heartbroken to hear about Sassy. She was such a loving, patient, and caring pup. She was so lucky to have you and to enjoy a life surrounded by love and great adventures, including participating in PAWS.
"Sassy was such a hit at our program! The kids talked about her constantly. The visits by all the dogs made such a positive impact on the students and got students excited to come to school in the summer.
"Sassy and your family have been on my mind each day since we heard. I hope you are comforted by your wonderful memories of Sassy and photographs they you've taken over the years. I attached photos of Sassy's fun times at school this summer.
"Thank you for sharing your amazing fur baby with us and for making a positive impact on students. We are so blessed to have met you both.
"Have a good day,
Nicole"

Susan Pfadt & AG
Susan & AG have been active with PAWS since 2007! In addition to visiting at many different locations throughout the years working with children with disabilities, Susan has been instrumental in helping to develop PAWS Autism Initiative and our Disabilities program. She has also been essential in program development supporting teams at the Brennen School (and its satellites) and the new partnership with Delaware Mentor.
|
Karen Hinman & Heidi
Karen attended our Annual Conference in February of this year. Inspired, she signed up for training and has jumped right into visiting. She and Heidi, her adorable little Dachshund Chihuahua mix, now cheer the folks at Cadia Silverside and recently accepted the opportunity to do a Special Request visit. Of course, Heidi is right in the middle of their visits, bringing the happiness and lightness of a little dog with a big heart.
