Friday Community Night Begins September 16th
Community Nights are coming to FUSW! Twice a month on
Friday
evenings, our building will be hopping. We are hearing that you want opportunities to deepen relationships at FUSW and feel the vibrancy of our community so we are creating space for us to gather every other Friday night for informal fellowship, small group ministry and youth groups. Congregants of all ages are welcome and we hope that having multiple activities occurring simultaneously will make it easier for families to participate (e.g., while youth are in youth group, parents can attend a ministry group, team meeting or enjoy informal fellowship time).
The first Community night is Friday, September 16. The
Junior and Senior High Youth Groups meet at 7:00pm The Men's Group and Social Justice Team meet at 7:30pm. Community dinner is open to everyone and begins at 6:30pm. Bring your dinner and share in fellowship. .We look forward to deepening the ties of community with you!

Anti-Bias & Justice Workshop
You are invited a special workshop on Saturday, September 24th at FUSW. Rev. Dr. Hope Johnson and Betty Jeanne Rueters-Ward will lead us in a day of learning and exploring anti-bias and justice work as it relates to our RE ministries. Our focus this year is Love and Justice. We are framing our work with Cornel West's quote, "Justice is what love looks like in public." The workshop is intended to help us create a common starting point, and support volunteers and families in important conversations you may be having about bias and oppression. We will develop a shared language and lens, explore identity and privile
ge, talk about what it means to participate in the work of justice making with children and youth, and affirm ways to support each other in our own learning. We invite RE volunteers, youth (especially youth!), parents and all FUSW congregants for this day of shared learning. Click here for a flyer. Click here to register. We hope you will join us!
