School, Wellbeing and Academic Assessments
"Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher." -Japanese Proverb

As we get back into the school routine now is the time to identify learning difficulties and determine how to help students who are struggling succeed this school year. Academic assessments can help identify issues early and allow schools, teachers and parents to work out a plan that will help students with learning disabilities or other struggles.

The U.S. Department of Education estimates that more than 13% of public education students aged 3 to 21 have some kind of learning disability and without recognition of the challenges those students are much less likely to succeed.  Mental health and education go hand in hand. By helping children identify their learning disability earlier, we can focus on those troubled areas with an effective guide for their education and ultimate success.

If you or your child's school makes the determination that an academic assessment is in order, contact Wellspring today and we can help.
What Danish Mother's Know About No Ultimatums Parenting

"Giving ultimatums to children essentially puts parents in a position where there has to be a winner and a loser. No one really likes to be given an ultimatum because it is always a power struggle. It never offers a win/win solution. What parents don't realize is that they are often the ones who end up losing with this method, even if                they feel they win in the moment."

For American teens, making friends isn't just confined to the school yard, playing field or neighborhood - many are making new friends online. Fully  57% of teens ages 13 to 17 have made a new friend online,  with 29% of teens indicating that they have made more than five new friends in online venues. Most of these friendships stay in the digital space;  only 20% of all teens have  met an online friend in person.
