Candidate Questionnaire Responses Published
U.S. Senate, House Candidates Respond on a
Number of Life-Related Public Policy Questions
NEW ORLEANS - Louisiana Right to Life has published on its website the responses gathered from its 2016 Candidate Questionnaire in order to assist Louisiana voters in evaluating candidates. The responses represent the life-related public policy stances of candidates running for U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives in Louisiana's upcoming November elections.

Louisiana Right to Life Executive Director, Benjamin Clapper emphasized the importance of these elections, saying: "The 2016 election is extremely important for pro-life voters, as our new senator will take part in shaping the Supreme Court for the next generation. Additionally, both House and the Senate members will cast votes on a myriad of critical issues, including the funding of Planned Parenthood, protecting conscience rights, and preventing tax dollars from being used to pay for abortions. We need pro-life elected officials to represent the pro-life state of Louisiana in these seats. Because of this, it is crucial that Louisiana voters know where candidates stand on life issues before they vote."

The 2016 Louisiana Right to Life Candidate Questionnaires were provided to candidates and cover a variety of pro-life public policy topics, including abortion, Supreme Court nominees, end of life care, assisted suicide, human embryo research, and conscience protections.

In the U.S. Senate race, all major candidates except Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell answered the questionnaire.

Candidate responses to the questionnaires, the voting records of candidates who have previously served in public office, and copies of the 2016 Candidate Questionnaires are available now at www.ProLifeLouisiana.org/2016Elections.
