COMIC-CON 2016

   Comic-Con is the largest pop culture convention that features comic books and science fiction/fantasy related films, television, and arts including all genres (horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels). 

Fort Hamilton Comic-Con will feature:

  • Prizes for Best Cosplay Costume (Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of foam or cardboard only.)

Alex Simmons is a professional freelance writer, teaching artist, and public speaker, as well as an arts & education consultant.

Noel MacNeal launched his career on Sesame Street, where he honed his craft with puppetry legends Jim Henson and Frank Oz

Mike Lopez is an educator, artist, and writer, who’s main mission is to bring the positive message of the arts to young people. Along with other artists, writers and actors, Mike has presented his “Positively Inspiring Young People With the Arts” workshop in New York City, Washington DC, Boston and Atlantic City. It is during these workshops that teachers, librarians, camp directors and anyone who wants to creatively inspire young people are able to gather ideas, network and learn from professionals.

Gary Eckerson is best known as the artist and co-creator of the comic book Life’s a Beach.

Alex Fernandez is an independent film maker based out of Brooklyn. After graduating from film school in 2008 he directed documentaries and was a freelance videographer for legendary music Producing group Full Force. In November 2012 he created the science fiction web series Body Jumpers. Body Jumpers earned him numerous awards including 2015's International Euro Film Festival award for best web series in the United States. In September 2015 he launched Alex Fernandez's Dawn a new horror web series about a vampire who is a warrior of God.Not only has Alex launched two hit web series which he produces with zero crew. He also has comic books based on both series. He is currently wrapping up on the first season of Dawn. When he isn't working on
his craft he spends time with his wife who is also executive producer on all his projects and his two beautiful children. He is currently working on the reimagination of his original web series Body Jumpers titled Body Jumpers: Resurrection coming later this year.

Karyn Parsons is best known for her role as "Hilary Banks" on the long-running t.v. show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Other television appearances include "The Job" with Denis Leary, "Melrose Place", and "Lush Life" with Lori Petty. She has also appeared in the films "Major Payne" with Damon Wayans, "The Ladies Man" with Tim Meadows, "Mixing Nia", and "13 Moons" with Steve Buscemi and Peter Dinklage.

Felix has Freelanced with off Broadway productions such as "The Monkey King" from Great small Works (2006), Cathay: Tale of 3 cites in China(2007) with director Ping Chong and designer Stephen Kaplan. In addition, "Generation Buy" (2010) with writer/ Director Phillip Saruaci jr. and he worked on the Comic TV adaption of the Bronxnet Emmy Award Winning show "Bronx Flavor", starring Justin Fornalaka Baron Ambrosia. Ray Felix's film credits include "A Wonderful Christmas: Feliz Navidad" (2005) released by Lionsgate Pictures. Ray Felix is the winner of numerous awards and grants such a "BRIO- Bronx Recognizes Its Own, 2002, CAG Award- Community Arts Grant 2011, 2012, NYSCA, New York State Council on the Arts in 2011 and 2012, The Sherman Foundation, New York Community Trust award, The National Endowment for the Arts, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the Lambent Foundation of Tides Foundation for 2011.
