What are you grateful for?

I have been thinking  about this question a lot these days -- in my yoga classes, in my social media posts and in my daily morning and evening meditations. In fact, whenever I feel myself slipping down the rabbit hole of sadness or anger, I stop myself and write, say or think of something and/or someone I am grateful for.

I am grateful for finding Flow in the work I do?
Add 4 simple practices to your Day for better heath. This video lasts 4 minutes.

"Being in the Flow" has been well researched in many fields including education and psychology. You are considered in the "flow" when you are so focused on an activity that you love, that you lose track of time and space. With such concentrated focus,  the results of what you do truly surpass what you thought you were capable of.  I am so grateful
that making jewelry often puts me in this state of flow. I am also grateful that my designs are catching on.  This past month, I had most sales on ETSY since launching my store 15 months ago and all these sales were from new customers out of state. I am also grateful for companies such as ZnetShows that challenge designers like me to use their products in new and creative ways.   Check out what I made with the cultured sea glass they sent me.
Grateful for all the Teachers in my life
I have had many amazing teachers in my life.  My first yoga teacher in Charlottesville 20 years ago, taught me so much about the use of language and metaphors to help students understand the yoga poses and what we might feel in those poses.  I often use her methods.  For instance, she would describe the lifting of the core as pulling a tissue out of the top of the box.  In other words, she did not want us to strain in our pelvic region, but to gently lift up.  During yoga training at Joyful Yoga, there were several special teachers who shared many techniques like how to assist students in ways that are both encouraging and not
uncomfortable for either the student or the teacher. Students have also been my teachers through their kind words before, during or after class.
Another teacher for me has been my injuries.  This month I have been participating in a 22 day push-up challenge to raise awareness for the 22 veterans who commit suicide daily due to challenges they face.  This was not a life or death challenge for me, but it was truly a learning experience.
