For those of you using the 606-Bloomingdale Trail, there have been issues in the past when reporting a crime that is occurring on the Trail. Previously, operators did not have any reference to the Trail in the emergency dispatch system. My office and the Park District have spoken with staff at the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, and the Bloomingdale Trail is now in the 911 system.  When you call in, be sure to state the address of the nearest intersecting street. For instance, if it is at or near at North Wolcott, refer to it as 1900 W. Bloomingdale. Do not refer to the Trail as the "606." We have asked for new signage to be installed on the Trail that refers to addresses coinciding with the streets below to make it easier for OEMC and the Police to respond to any calls. If you continue to have issues when calling, please let us know.

This Saturday and Sunday is the Annual Bucktown Arts Fest.
This is a free all volunteer driven event that raises funds for local arts education. There's music, poetry, art and plenty of good food so stop by, even if it rains.

Have a nice weekend,
Alderman Scott Waguespack

For more than 30 years, the Bucktown Arts Fest has been Chicago's premier arts festival, showcasing close to 200 artists who work in oil, watercolor, photography, textile, sculpture, jewelry, and so much more, attracting more than 30,000 visitors annually.

The Bucktown Arts Fest is a non-profit, all-volunteer run, neighborhood celebration of the arts. All proceeds from the fest go to fund, develop, and support arts education programming at Holstein Park and in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhoods.

This weekend it's back in f ull force! There will be two music stages, dancers, poets and performers, arts activities for kids, food trucks, and craft beer and sangria.  See the  Bucktown Arts Fest  website for more info and make sure to come out and support the event!
