Transportation in the Future
Senator David Watters

Now that the legislative session is over and we have passed a new 10-Year Highway Plan, I want to give my constituents an update on my work on transportation as well as the issues we will face in the next decade.
New Hampshire needs a 21st-Century multimodal transportation system, with car, truck, bus, train, bike, and pedestrian traffic integrated as a well-maintained, and well-policed transportation network.  Senate District 4 attracts large employers like Rand Whitney, Liberty Mutual, and Velcro because we it has strong transportation links with the rest of our regional economy. Downtown Dover is flourishing because of its walkability, its access to highways, and its rail connections to Boston and Portland. This accessibility benefits commuters, families, and tourists. Socializing Communications
Bill Baber
Representative Bill Baber

We are experiencing history being made. We have nominated a presidential candidate of a major party who reached this lofty position while having spent a relatively trivial amount on his campaign (~$10M vs. his opponent's ~$110M.) Legislative Notes: Non-Compete Agreements & NH Real Estate Tax Transfer
Sean O'Connell, Esquire
Chair, GDCC Board of Directors
Chair, GDCC Government Affairs Committee

Shaheen & Gordon is happy to bring you the third edition of this new quarterly newsletter focused on legislative matters important to the Greater Dover Community.

The summer months are quiet at the State House but provide an opportunity to learn more about legislation that did not have the spotlight in the last session. Two statutes that fall into that category are non-compete agreements for physicians and a change to the New Hampshire Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT).

The Shaheen & Gordon Group LLC has been creating legislative strategies for our clients for more than a decade.  Located within walking distance of the State House, we are available to interact with New Hampshire decision makers on a daily basis.  Our clients have included national as well as local businesses looking to introduce new legislation or make changes to existing laws.  If there is a particular statute or administrative rule that is causing concern, let us know and we may be able to help.  Please contact Mike McLaughlin at our legislative group, The Shaheen & Gordon Group, at 603-225-7262 or at [email protected].
