  • Our Awesome Autumn Book Sale is just around the corner -- September 23, 24 & 25. In order to prepare for the sale, our donation book bins will close on Wednesday, September 14 and reopen for donations on Monday, September 26. Many thanks for your continued support!

Get Well, Stay Well -- Painkillers: Routine Use to Dependence? Recovery and Back to Normality

The health literacy series presented by Norwalk Hospital and Wilton Library continues with a panel covering the use of opioid painkillers, their potential for unintended abuse, the path to dependency and the road to recovery. Speakers: Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, Commissioner of the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS); Robert Bepko, Administrative Director of Network Pharmacy Services for the Western Connecticut Health Network; and Daryl McGraw, Director of the Office of Recovery Community Affairs at DMHAS. The program is moderated by Wilton Library Trustee Saras Nair, MD, former Chairman of the Pathology Department at Norwalk Hospital. More info & register
Into the Heart of Cuba by Daryl Hawk
Thursday, September 15 @7pm 
Join international documentary photographer Daryl Hawk as he recounts his 2,700-mile circumnavigation of Cuba. Hawk spent two weeks capturing the colorful city streets of Cinfuegos, Trinidad, Santa Clara, Camaguay, Santiago de Cuba, and Havana; the Vinales region; Cuba's diverse coastline, lowlands plains, interior villages and its people. Hawk is a photographer, travel writer, lecturer, and explorer whose articles and photographs appear in national magazines and publications worldwide. More info & register
