Beechwood Orchards

Beechwood has announced they'll have the BEST nectarines of the season this week! Try the yellow Fantasia or the white Zephyrs, both are fabulously sweet! And here's a sign of fall... grapes arrive this week - a perfect compliment for some of that Valley Milkhouse cheese. And don't miss your market manager's favorite early season apple, the Zestar!!

Blooming Glen Farm
Sweet Peppers are the name of the game this week! Delicious raw or sauteed and very easy to freeze for the winter, just cut into strips and freeze on a cookie tray and put them into plastic bags for use all winter long. They're great for soups, stews, chilis and stir fry. And the bulk plum tomato continues this week... 25/lbs for $25. USDA Certified Organic!



Lemon Tree Lane Kitchen  
Back to School season is almost here and we can all feel the pace picking up. Simplify your life with some of Heidi's easy suppers... hearty Pot Pies, Seafood Chowder, Chicken Vegetable & Dumplings, Pulled Italian Porchetta (made with Purely Farm Pork), and of course her wonderful Pasta, Gnocchi, Ricotta Cavatelli, Ravioli, Sauces and more. For dessert try her homemade Pearl Tapioca Custard & Fresh Fruit Sorbets! And new this week is a green tahini spread - yummy!

 



Bad Farm
New Cheese has arrived: Chive and Onion Jack, lots of flavor and awesome to use in your favorite cooking recipes as well as cut up to eat with pretzels and crackers. Fresh mozzarella, curd, yogurt, butter. We have limited aged cheese and a few containers of marinated mozzarella left from last weekend (preorder if you want one) Cage free brown eggs, RAW MILK. Beef: ground beef, chipped steak and hamburger patty's already for you to throw on your grill for end of the summer and Labor Day Picnics. With the kids heading back to school and those busy mornings, we have the perfect healthy breakfast to make your mornings easier, how about an 8 oz drinkable yogurt. Great for the young kids or the older ones who like to grab and go on the way out the door or for a quick snack when they get off the bus or maybe even between school and their sports practice or game to hold them over till supper!




Scholl Orchards
It's Tomato Day part TWO as tomato specials continue this week at Scholl Orchards! Cherry tomatoes $3 pint or 2/$5; half bushel Roma canning tomatoes 25lbs. for $15; half bushel of beefsteak tomatoes for $20. Cucumbers and zucchini are all 75 cents each or 3/$2. Canary melons and Gala apples are here this week. And be sure to get those scrumptious peaches while you still can - consider freezing some for smoothies!

   







Easton Salsa Company
NEW Vegan Items!

This week, Easton Salsa Co. will offer 4 new vegan items in addition to their signature salsas and hummus. Look for Spicy Katie's chili, Hibiscus rice pudding, Smoked jalapeno mac & cheeze with truffle oil (mild) and Carinne's pineapple tomatillo bean salad (mild)! 
Easton Salsa is also introducing a Habanero infused Honey Stinger honey. Excellent on chicken and fish, and as a dip for bread and many other interesting recipes.

Pickleli ci ous
Try this quick a nd easy dip recipe featuring pickle licious pimento stuffed green olives and enjoy $1 off all pimento  stuffed olives this  w e ek!

Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup pimento stuffed green olives
1 teaspoon pimento oliv
e brine
2 carrots1-2 cloves garlic chopped (depending on how garlicy you like it) 
cracked black pepper to taste

Directions
Add ingredients to food processor and pulse until well  combined. Serve with crackers or veggie sticks. 



Salvaterra's Gardens
 
Cooler temps mean a nice bounty of greens for great salads. You'll find lettuce mix, arugula, and head lettuce this week. How about some kale for a nice Kale salad with Zestar apples, shredded carrots, raisins and a vinaigrette? You'll find crunchy cruciferous veggies like pak choy, nappa cabbage, and broccoli. There will be plenty of tomatoes and potatoes, plus... carrots, beets, scallions, onions, garlic, peppers, eggplant, zucchini and cucumbers. Squash is coming on strong now with spaghetti, delicata, butternut and acorn squashes all available this week. Herbs include parsley, dill and cilantro! Hooray for the return of cilantro - great timing for making fresh salsa with all those tomatoes and peppers now at the market! 



Tomblers Bakery
Features for the week are peach pies and more peachy goodies again. Karen says she still 
has a great supply of peaches from Scholls Orchard. They will also have " Peaches and Cream" pies, peach blueberry, cherry, blueberry, and triple  berry (a great mix of cherries, blueberries, and red raspberries). Pies  can be ordered ahead for pick up at the Market. Please call by Friday 
before noon. Please note: Apple pies will not be available for at least  another 3 weeks till the new crop arrives. The pastie special has been a big hit.....Chicken Corn Chowder with  fresh sweet corn from Twin Maple Farm. They have been going fast each  week so come early or call ahead by Friday and they can hold your order at  the Market. To preorder, call: 484-515-9968

 



Peace Tree Farm 
Peace Tree is BACK!! Fall is coming and is a great time to plant veggies and perennials! They'll have Swiss chard, kale, blooming border perennials as well as shade and sunny drought lovers. Their herbs are luscious this week. So much that they had to trim the Rosemary to make cut bunches to sell. One new item they'll have available is the Cy's Sunburst scented geranium topiary in clay pots. And as always, SUCCULENTS! 

*** Next weekend, September 3rd, Peace Tree will feature a succulent bar complete with plants, pots, and soil. How cool is that??!

Meet Dr. Aksade  
 

As a product of the Easton Hospital General Surgery Residency Program, Dr. Aksade is very proud and happy to be home. After earning his medical degree in Ankara, Turkey, he finished his internship in Philadelphia in the Jefferson system. His fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally invasive Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center prepared him to better serve the community in the Lehigh Valley. He uses advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques for faster recovery and less pain. "What I love about my career is changing lives of patients and helping them build a healthier future," he says. "Having been in the Lehigh Valley since 2001, it's great to cross paths with the patients I've helped whether it was to alleviate their pain or improve their quality of life. The human interaction is the best part of my career." Meet him at the Easton Hospital table to talk about general surgery, weight loss and robotic-assisted surgery!
