Meet Brittney Barros
Our Keynote Speaker at
Harvest of Hope 2016

"After many years of homelessness, I received help from members of our community. I got involved with Ozone House as a way to give back to the community that helped get me up while I was down. I began working at Ozone House to help create the stable life every young person deserves. It is important to me that endangered youth in Washtenaw County are off the streets.

I look forward to sharing my personal experiences with you on September 9th at our Harvest of Hope event."

Brittney is a recent high school graduate who enjoys playing the saxophone and clarinet. Motivated by her homeless experience, she was a Peer Outreach Worker for Ozone House and also speaks on behalf of foster youth to improve the foster care system.

Brittney will begin college at EMU next month, where she plans to minor in music therapy.

ANN ARBOR, MI - About 1,000 Washtenaw County students don't have stable housing in a given school year, but with your help they can at least have proper school supplies.

The Education Project for Homeless Youth, with support from MLive and The Ann Arbor News, is running a school supply drive from Aug. 8 to Aug. 19. The Education Project  is an initiative of the Washtenaw Intermediate School District that serves local students who are homeless or in temporary living situations.

Piper Partners is Promoting Move-In Kits

"The PiperPartners Team is fortunate to be able to partner with organizations like Ozone House to give back to the Washtenaw County community we know and love." Andy Piper

As you know, moving into a new home often comes with all sorts of unexpected needs and costs, even when moving from one "fully stocked" home to another. Many of the young adults Ozone House works with, to transition into their own places, move with very few personal possessions.

We're teaming up with the PiperPartners Team to provide
Move-In Kits to young adults in need. A Move-In Kit contains everything a young adult needs to successfully transition into a place of their own: basic kitchen, bath, bedroom supplies, and other important items, which costs about $300.

PiperPartners goal is to raise enough to donate 10 Move-In Kits to Ozone House.

If you're interested in joining the PiperPartners Team in their efforts, you can click here to make a contribution. Your thoughtfulness and actions bring us one step closer to our goal of ensuring that all youth in Washtenaw County have the resources they need to live safe, healthy, and productive lives.

Special thank you to the Department of Pediatrics -  CHEAR Unit at the University of Michigan Health System and Eliana Rosen for hosting a supply drive at the end of July. They collected a lot of personal hygiene items that are in high demand by our youth.
