Kettlestone to Welcome First Major Office Development

At the August 1, 2016 Waukee City Council meeting, a Development Agreement was approved with the City of Waukee, KC Kettlestone, L.C. and Ashworth Properties Development, Inc. This agreement pertains to incentives and infrastructure for a 93,740 sq. ft., two-story office building to be constructed within the Kettlestone Development along Grand Prairie Parkway north of Ashworth Road. 

The site plan for the office project was approved by the Waukee City Council as well on August 15. The project's construction costs are anticipated to total no less than $27,235,500, and the goal for completion of the building is December 2017. It will be constructed by Knapp Properties, and the space will be leased by a single corporate tenant. The building is designed to take full advant age of the City's greenbelt and pond system to  the north of the site with a main central corri dor with full glazed surfacing on either end.

The company, of which the name has not been formerly announced, is expected to employ 350 people.
Waukee Issues Record 1,054 Building Permits in FY 2016

For the third consecutive fiscal year, the City of Waukee's Development Services Department issued a record number of building permits.  From July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, the City issued 1,054 building permits with a total valuation of $180.8 million. That number surpasses last fiscal year's 815 permits and valuation of $131 million.  Of the permits issued, 354 were for single-family housing, 172 were for townhomes, six were for multi-family housing and 38 were for commercial projects. The remaining 484 permits fall into the "Other" category, including additions, alterations, decks, etc. Read more.
Kum & Go's Kettlestone Store Opens to Large Crowd
On Friday, June 17, a large crowd gathered at the new Kum & Go convenience store located at 3105 Grand Prairie Parkway in Kettlestone. Kum & Go representatives, City of Waukee officials, Waukee Chamber of Commerce members and area residents eagerly sampled pizzas and other "Go Fresh Market" food, enjoyed tastes from the Confluence Brewing Co. growler station and witnessed the unveiling of the new "&" art piece on the property. This Kum & Go is Kettlestone's first retailer. Waukee residents and I-80 travelers alike have been flocking to the store since its opening. See photo gallery.
