Tonight's weather forecast is for clear skies, so Kopernik will be open at 6:30 p.m. for viewing the Conjunction of Venus & Jupiter. A conjunction is when two or more celestial bodies appear to be next to each other in the sky. You will be able to view these two planets through Kopernik's telescopes as they get close together.
Last night, Kopernik visitors were able to view this event until Venus and Jupiter set behind the trees at about 8 p.m.
Remember that weather forecasting is an inexact science and sky conditions can change rapidly. Check the Kopernik website or call (607) 748-3685 for up-to-date sky and viewing conditions.
Hope to see you tonight,
