We now have a CAL FIRE Firefighters in Crisis Twitter page. We want this page to educate the public about the current condition within CAL FIRE and create a dialogue regarding fair compensation.

The unfairness of failing to pay our firefighters appropriately is felt by our families and has a negative impact on our fir efighting community.  Check it out!

California Firefighters Death Could Have Been Prevented!

With 15 years under her belt with Cal Fire Riverside, Firefighter Sara Thomas is now battling a personal fight against cancer - for herself and her family. Diagnosed with cancer after the discovery of a tumor, the disease has now spread to her lungs and liver. The 41-year-old firefighter has opted to treat her cancer with alternative medicines that are not currently covered by insurance. Sara has twin 6 ½-year-old girls, Mira and Olivia, who will be rooting for their mom and their collective future.

The Sara Thomas Fund will cover the costs of the alternative medication and time Sara spends away from home to receive the treatment.
