Is it really August already? Where has Summer gone? It feels like we just sent out July's issue of
The Hickory Twig yesterday! In any case, we hope your Summer vacation is coming to a nice end and that you're excited to get back to school soon. Who knew that counting could be so cute? We're in love with this new book by Teegan White, not only for its fantastic illustrations, but Teegan also wrote an absolutely adorable rhyming story to help you learn your numbers! You'll love it!

The Last Cherry Blossom takes readers to Hiroshima near the end of WWII. If you're looking for some good historical fiction, this one is so worth the read. It's eye-opening and, at times, completely heartbreaking, but you won't regret reading it for a moment.
