Opportunity to win this beautiful Garces Quilt!
During the 2015-16 school year, some former Garces parents, grandparents and alumni decided it would be nice to have a larger crucifix in the gym.  The ASB officers picked out a wood cross, made for gyms, which has the body of Jesus carved into the wood, rather than attached to the top of it.  Chris Vidauretta designed and constructed the quilt with help from the Peacemakers Sewing Group at St. Philip's.  Each dollar donation toward the crucifix will give you the opportunity to possibly win the quilt.  The quilt recipient will be announced at the Garces BBQ on Sept. 23rd. The quilt will be on display and donations accepted during the football game against BCHS this Friday night at Garces. If you will not be at the game and would like to make a donation or if you would like to sell donation tickets, please contact Helen Haller at 872-1722. And for all of you who do donate, we hope that when you see the crucifix in the gym later this year, you will know that you had a part in making it possible. With God's help, our Garces family can accomplish wonderful things.

Garces Basque Dancers

This summer several Garces students - future, past, and present - traveled to Washington, DC, to proudly take part in a wonderful event that allowed them to showcase their Basque culture. The Smithsonian Folklife event highlights a different culture every summer, and for the first time ever - it was the Basque culture.  The Smithsonian asked for Basque dancers to perform and, with the hard work of Garces parent, Maria Toretta, and others, they were able to get 27 dancers to particiapte.  Of those 27 dancers, 18 are affiliated with Garces.

Current students: Tommy & Ariana Toretta; Antone & Marco Fanucchi; Maddie Reyes; Sebastian Minaberrigarai; Natalina Antongiovanni;
Alumni: Danielle Etcheverria, Jenetter Echeverria, Christian Curutchague, Mary Jo Etcheverry, & Nikki Iturriria (who is also a dance instructor).
Future Rams: Olivia & Gino Antongiovanni, Johnny Toretta, Nico Fanucchi, JP Etcheverry; William Minaberrigarai

Two Rams are missing from the picture because they were doing another event at the festival- Nikki Iturriria & Christian Curutchague.
Lady Ram Golfers

Garces sisters, Grace Cornejo '18 and Claire Cornejo '19, shot a combined score of 74 (2 over par) to clinch 2nd place in the Frontier High school invitational best ball tournament on August 23rd. There were over 18 teams in competition.  Garces sisters  Allie Crawley '12 & Sydney Crawley '12 also competed and shot 82 to post a 6th place finish. Way to go girls!

It is our goal for students to build Christ-like character and develop important life skills and habits. Through athletics we learn critical life lessons and skills, such as discipline, cooperation and teamwork, dedication, morality and proper work ethics. We strive to provide a program of excellence for our students to maximize their God-given abilities in a competitive setting while preparing them to play at the next level.
