Celebration of India's 70th Independence Day at the Embassy Residence

India's 70th Independence Day was celebrated in Washington DC with a flag-hoisting ceremony on the morning of August 15, 2016 at Embassy Residence. The ceremony was attended by around 400 members of the Indian community.
Ambassador Arun K. Singh unfurled the tricolour and National Anthem was sung by all. Thereafter Ambassador addressed the guests and read out Hon'ble President's address to the nation. This was followed by a brief cultural programme comprising of rendition of patriotic songs. Commemorative videos highlighting India@70 were also displayed.
