Sometimes life around us is not what we want it to be.  Sometimes those in our life do not represent the same values and beliefs that we hold dear. Sometimes we find that we are in a career that does not satisfy us.  Sometimes life feels too complicated.  Read below some tips for changing your environment to better suit what makes you happy.

From The Positive Perspective......

Take time to reflect on your life.  Define what your life represents.    Define the goal of each day.  Is the goal to stay alive and survive somehow?  Is it to learn all you can while you are in school?  Is it to provide for your family?  Is it to spoil your grandchildren? No matter what your current life looks like, take stock of what you can control in your life and what you are unable to control.  Select a piece that you can control where you desire some change.... and CHANGE IT.

The change could be as simple as distancing yourself from someone who is not reliable and disappoints you despite the many opportunities you give them.  Or the change could be very challenging and more time-intensive in the shape of finding a new career.  While you may not be able to make the complete change immediately, for example, taking 6 months to investigate what a new career change looks like; create a timeline of the change and note improvements toward the goal.  Nothing can be more disappointing then designing a goal and feeling defeated before you even start.  Looking for that forward motion is vital to keeping your motivation going until you reach the goal. Consistent evaluation of the goal and acknowledgement of your progress, as well as making any alterations to that goal, can keep you moving in the right direction.

If your goal involves simplifying things, be mindful of what you really need and value in your life and work to eliminate the rest.  Now, while we can't just eliminate our bills, (I would choose to eliminate my mortgage for sure,) we can work to be sure the services we pay for in life truly serve the best purpose for us.

If you have a significant other in your life that would be involved in this process, be sure to speak to them regarding any changes you are looking to make.

Don't overwhelm yourself by choosing more than one change at a time.  Focus on one environmental issue and see it through to completion before starting to change something else.

Above all, surround yourself with people who believe in you and respect you for exactly who you are.  Connect with people who have a positive perspective on their own environment. This can inspire you to work toward the same feeling about your own environment.

Thank you for taking the time to look at changing your environment....From The Positive Perspective.

Stay well.
