Status Update: WISHIN Reaches 4 MILLION UNIQUE PATIENTS-- and Counting

The WISHIN Pulse Community Health Record now contains clinical data for more than 4 million unique individuals. That's an increase of 77 percent from one year ago. This increase means that the amount of clinical data contained in the WISHIN Pulse community health record has also grown substantially.

That clinical data is being consumed in increasingly large quantities as well. Unique patient queries (the number of patients searched for within the system, each individual counted only once) have steadily grown to the point of nearly quadrupling since the end of 2015. Also building are numbers of registered users and unique log-ins. Providers are actively adopting Pulse as a part of their workflow and using WISHIN Pulse to inform their caregiving.

As more providers use and contribute to the community health record, the stronger it becomes. If you're not benefiting from WISHIN participation yet- now is a good time to start!
Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division Joins WISHIN
Helping Providers Treat the Whole Patient
Health information exchange isn't just for getting information from point A to point B (although it is really good at that), it's truly building a complete record of care. Supporting its effort to create a complete picture of patients' health, WISHIN is pleased to announce Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD) as a new client.

"Our other clients in the Milwaukee community have consistently stressed their need to access information about BHD encounters through WISHIN," said WISHIN CEO Joe Kachelski. "At the same time, BHD will benefit from an ability to reliably and easily obtain information about ambulatory and hospital care that takes place elsewhere. This is a positive step as County government and private health care organizations work together to re-engineer the delivery system for behavioral health in Milwaukee."

Five Community Health Clinics Also Come Aboard

WISHIN is working to build up the community health record for some of Wisconsin's most vulnerable patients. This month five Federally Qualified Health Centers -- Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers (Cashton), NorthLakes Community Clinic (Iron River), Kenosha Community Health Center, Bridge Community Clinic (Wausau) and Family Health/La Clinica (Wautoma) - joined WISHIN. Community health clinics provide a comprehensive range of care and serve as critical points of access for their communities. WISHIN is proud to have them on board and looks forward to helping them meet their needs.
