Health information exchange isn't just for getting information from point A to point B (although it is really good at that), it's truly building a complete record of care. Supporting its effort to create a complete picture of patients' health, WISHIN is pleased to announce Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD) as a new client.
"Our other clients in the Milwaukee community have consistently stressed their need to access information about BHD encounters through WISHIN," said WISHIN CEO Joe Kachelski. "At the same time, BHD will benefit from an ability to reliably and easily obtain information about ambulatory and hospital care that takes place elsewhere. This is a positive step as County government and private health care organizations work together to re-engineer the delivery system for behavioral health in Milwaukee."
Five Community Health Clinics Also Come Aboard
WISHIN is working to build up the community health record for some of Wisconsin's most vulnerable patients. This month five Federally Qualified Health Centers -- Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers (Cashton), NorthLakes Community Clinic (Iron River), Kenosha Community Health Center, Bridge Community Clinic (Wausau) and Family Health/La Clinica (Wautoma) - joined WISHIN. Community health clinics provide a comprehensive range of care and serve as critical points of access for their communities. WISHIN is proud to have them on board and looks forward to helping them meet their needs.
