Dr. Deanna Barden, DDS has purchased her father, Dr. Dennis Barden's,
dental practice. Dennis has operated Barden Dental since 1979 and has recently retired. Deanna grew up in Osawatomie and was a 2000
graduate of Osawatomie High School. She graduated from
UMKC School of Dentistry.

 Pray for Louisiana - The Osawatomie First United Methodist Church will be collecting items and money for Flood Buckets for Louisiana. We in Osawatomie know the pain and struggle of flooding. We invite you to join us in this effort. It would be great to take a TRUCKLOAD of items to Louisiana.

 2nd Annual Chamber Golf Classic - The Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce is hosting our 2nd Annual Golf Classic. It will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Osawatomie Golf Course. The proceeds from the event will go back into our community. The Chamber hosts several events throughout the year and we are always looking for ways to enhance and promote our community.
To take part in the tournament as a player, you can enter individually or in teams of four. All players and sponsors involved in the tournament will enjoy a complimentary breakfast and lunch. All involved will receive a goodie bag and be able to partake in many prize-winning events. Click here for flyer.
There are many options for sponsorship packages. Sponsors will receive exposure for their business at the event, as well as, help make a difference in the community.

Osawatomie Freedom Festival - Two days of fun and history! Saturday, September 17th 10am-5pm & Sunday, September 18th Noon-5pm in John Brown Park. Two days of fun and history including frontier artisan demonstrations, special tours of museum with Mary Buster, great-great-granddaughter of Florella Brown Adair, the half sister of John Brown, vintage baseball game, Battle of Osawatomie reenactment, Civil War scenario, family fun activities, displays, demonstrations, and much more.

 Over The Rainbow Community Garden Club -
We are doing our 2nd Annual Mum Fundraiser. $10 for a nice healthy 2 gallon mum in a variety of colors. Proceeds will be used for our Community Garden for things such as insurance, seeds, plants, fuel and equipment. You

 After Prom Golf Tournament - will be Saturday, September 10th at Osawatomie Golf Course with registration at 7am and tee off at 8:30. $65 per player - 4 man scramble includes cart rental, lunch and hole prizes. All proceeds will benefit After Prom 2017.

Rotary Lake Project - A new roof has been installed at the Osawatomie Lake Shelter House through the Osawatomie Rotary Lake Project. The next phase is adding a patio and some benches and tables in order to create a recreation area where families can spend quality time together. You can help! Osawatomie First United Methodist Church is ready to hire a Choir Director. The position is a part-time hire and involves Sunday service at 10:30 each week, arriving no later than 10:15 am, to prepare for the morning service. Also weekly choir practice is required, we meet Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00p.m. September-May. The Choir takes the summer off, however; the director will work with the musicians and pastor to recruit special music for the summer. There are some special services during Lent, Advent and Christmas Eve that are required along with occasional other events. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is a federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for the administration of the Medicare program, has federal oversight of Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The CMS Kansas City Regional office is responsible for the administration of these programs in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
Why: As Employers, Benefit and Human Resource Specialists you need to have a broad knowledge of benefit and health insurance options for your employees beyond your own employer coverage to assist your pre-retirees, and their families. Many of these programs are administered by our federal agency.
