Dr. Deanna Barden, DDS has purchased her father, Dr. Dennis Barden's,  dental practice. Dennis has operated Barden Dental since 1979 and has recently retired. Deanna grew up in Osawatomie and was a 2000  graduate of Osawatomie High School. She graduated from  UMKC School of Dentistry.  Barden Family Dentistry provides quality dental care to patients  of all ages including kids getting their first tooth!  Services include:

Louisiana Pray for Louisiana - The Osawatomie First United Methodist Church will be collecting items and money for Flood Buckets for Louisiana. We in Osawatomie know the pain and struggle of flooding. We invite you to join us in this effort. It would be great to take a TRUCKLOAD of items to Louisiana. Click here for more information about supplies needed for the cleaning buckets. You can buy one or all items for a bucket, but the requirements are very specific. golf 2016 2nd Annual Chamber Golf Classic
The Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce is hosting our 2nd Annual Golf Classic. It will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Osawatomie Golf Course. The proceeds from the event will go back into our community. The Chamber hosts several events throughout the year and we are always looking for ways to enhance and promote our community. 
 
To take part in the tournament as a player, you can enter individually or in teams of four. All players and sponsors involved in the tournament will enjoy a complimentary breakfast and lunch. All involved will receive a goodie bag and be able to partake in many prize-winning events. Click here for flyer.

Osawatomie First United Methodist Church is ready to hire a Choir Director. The position is a part-time hire and involves Sunday service at 10:30 each week, arriving no later than 10:15 am, to prepare for the morning service. Also weekly choir practice is required, we meet Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00p.m. September-May. The Choir takes the summer off, however; the director will work with the musicians and pastor to recruit special music for the summer. There are some special services during Lent, Advent and Christmas Eve that are required along with occasional other events. Human Resource/Benefits Specialists, & Employers:  The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Kansas City Regional Office invites you to a free workshop on CMS' Programs for Human Resource/Benefits Specialists and employers.  
 
Background:  The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is a federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for the administration of the Medicare program, has federal oversight of Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  The CMS Kansas City Regional office is responsible for the administration of these programs in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
 
Why: As Employers, Benefit and Human Resource Specialists you need to have a broad knowledge of benefit and health insurance options for your employees beyond your own employer coverage to assist your pre-retirees, and their families.  Many of these programs are administered by our federal agency.

- Consumer provisions and protections in the Affordable Care Act
